Geneva, NY (4/15/08)
The Finger Lakes region is blessed with a myriad of activities for kids of all
ages. Right now, the schools are in full swing with their lacrosse, baseball,
softball, track and field, and tennis programs. And, as soon as school is out,
the kids move into little league, softball, and soccer. Many of our area soccer
players will play summer baseball and softball rather than join the Geneva
Soccer Club program. So from time to time, we are short kids for some of the
age groups we sponsor.
Well, in keeping with our mission to provide a rich soccer experience for kids
in our community and in the spirit of greater collaboration with other
communities and soccer entities in our region, we recently met with the Midlakes
Soccer Club to discuss our common interests. It turns out that soccer faces the
same challenges in the Phelps and Clifton Springs area as we do in Geneva. This
year both our <15U Boys and <18U Boys programs appear to be short of the needed
18 to 20 kids needed to field competitive teams. So we are collaborating.
Several dedicated parents from both areas are going to help coach the teams and
a number of <15U and <18U Boys from Midlakes will be joining our ranks and
playing under the GSC jersey.
We anticipate having a rich mix of kids on the <18U from Geneva, Midlakes,
Romulus, and Macedon. Midlakes and Geneva soccer clubs especially want to thank
everyone in advance that made this partnership possible. If you want more
information about our soccer club alliance program, contact your respective club
leaders.

Your Help…
Please click the link below for an outline of
activities for the Geneva Soccer Club over the course of a year. As you
will see, there's a lot going on, but with many hands, we can reduce the work
load and at the same time show our kids how much we support them. If you would
like to help us provide a rewarding and fun soccer experience and have even a
few hours per week to spare during the spring and early summer, then we could
really use you.
